I'm hearing you Toby, but don't worry. Something is coming very soon, I can feel it in the wind.
As you appreciate and understand yourself, having studied the graphite market for the last three years, it's a little different to price compared to your average commodity.
Individual contracts for specified uses, demand different grades and sized flake.
Tolga Kumova has spent the last three years circling the globe speaking to over 40 different buyers of the gear..!
If there is one person who has a doctorate or complete understanding of the graphite and vanadium it is he.
Trust me there is only huge demand for Syrah's Balama graphite and vanadium.
There will be off takes announced in due course. With the Chinese, with the English, with the Europeans and in all probability, with Tesla.. In my opinion of course..!
Production is not due to commence until first quarter 2015, therefore this is only another attempt to manipulate the share price as was evident during the Credit Suisse warrant debacle of April 2013.
I also get the impression that the market is starting to sense that the increase in supply (refer Triton's announcement 21/10/14 regarding 1.457 billion tonne jorc resource) may depress the graphite and vanadium price in similar fashion, as the increase in iron ore volumes has depressed the iron spot price.
But..... As many others have identified the two resources are like chalk and cheese and the cost of mining them will be also.
One is solid from surface to depth with many regions encompassing 18% TGC with very minimal over burden. The other has thin ribbon like structures that start at surface and run at a 45 degree incline to great depth. As Prime has noted, the mining costs will be considerably larger the deeper you dig..!
That is just the beginning but I won't bang on about it further as others here are better at it and you already have a comprehensive understanding of Syrah's Balama resource having followed the company announcements since the early days, when the share price was only 15 cents..
I'm looking at this as an opportunity to top up my super.
Cheers Lute
