Well said mike and true.
Initially, I voted for Gough because it was time for a change after Liberal rule for so long which had become lethargic and I was ashamed at McMahon's servile acquiescence to the French atmospheric nuclear testing.
I was there at the time of the dismissal and the mood of the time, in a nutshell, was overwhelmingly against Gough and his team of buffoons: Cameron, Crean, Connor, Cairns et al,and the infamous Khemlani !
The catch cry at the time was sarcastically Heil Gough; Praise Gough; F--- Gough !
The dismissal at that time was necessary and timely.
Fraser was in control of a far superior government but lost the plot and was too gutless to follow through with nationally important reforms.
Fraser, towards the end of his term and until today has been an embarrassment, like the capitalist opportunistic "what's in it for me" little bodgie Bobbie Hawke.
