    That was Paul Keating's quote. It was made when the Senate wasn't working in his favour. It's interesting that you are quoting an old labor guy, frustrated by the senate now that it's affecting your side of politics. Since your ability to think seems to be confined to parroting politicians, I suggest maybe it's you who needs some more schooling. Paul Keating is not a folk hero to me, but he did know how to tear idiots a new one. So that's cool.

    The Senate is the closest thing we have to the representation of real actual Australians as opposed to a political class. I make no value judgement on that fact, but it is true, whichever way you slice it.

    I suggest you look at the voting intentions of the Australian public, vs the number of seats.

    The senate may be swill, but it is not unrepresentative.
