Gillard banned live cattle exports without consultation with the farmers, and without a notice period, for them to establish another market for their stocks.
Subsequently they had way too much stock on the land, no income, compounded by a drought, I am sure the affected farmers were /still are in dire straits.
All, so the witch could get the green vote and stay in power.
What a debacle. What a pity the farmers cannot sue the labour party.
