"Is not God light?
All things are said to be a manifestation of the broken symmetry of mass-less photons (energy)".
I think any definition the mind can conceptualize is highly likely to be false. Because if god=light, then what is darkness? Or if god=photons, then what is the space between photons?
The Catholics still seem to view evil/badness/sin as the enemy, whereas in reality life couldn't exist without opposites. It's natural to be aversive to pain (who isn't?), but the end goal of religion is the end of suffering, and demonizing "bad stuff" is not the way to do this as far as I know.
