If you open their eyes what is it you'd have them see? The blind will always lead the blind.

All these teachings you point out are in their place and their time and their cultural, historical settings. To look back from today's standpoint and make a judgement is an injustice. As for the followers of these ancient religions, they are like echoes. The Bible is a compilation of several major religions with traces of even older religions. Each one superseding the previous. To describe any one as greater than the other is to reject them all for they were as correct as they needed to be in time and place.

I have read the Koran several times, once again it was the correct medicine for its time and place. It was given to the most brutish, despotic of peoples who had to be crushed into some degree of human semblance. Under the teachings of the Koran the Middle East became the envy of the world in its time.

If a physician prescribes a medication for migraines when you are a youth that medication should not then be used in your advanced years if you break your hip. Religion is the same. It is the medication prescribed for a time and a place, is for a specific purpose and has a used by date. It can not be swallowed today and then have everybody crying out that it's not working.
