BHP continued to invest during the last downturn in 2009.
They constructed RGP5, which was port rail & a new mine expansion at Yandi, 5 Billion +, then they have done Jimblebar new mine near Newman for several billion, another new smaller mine near Newman 1 billion, plus numerous upgrades and expenditure at the Port, running into many billions.
All up in the last 5 years I would say they have spent every bit as much as FMG have.
And Rio have sunk billions into their port upgrades at Cape Lambert and new mines at Yandicoogina and Namuldi.
