Consumer confidence not as strong as hoped

Consumers are becoming more confident but fears about the economy are still weighing on people's minds.

Confidence rose just 0.2 per cent to 114.8 in the week ending November 9, according to the latest ANZ/Roy Morgan consumer confidence survey.

ANZ chief economist Warren Hogan said it was encouraging that confidence was continuing to rise, though the slow pace of improvement was disappointing
