Childcare group ABC Learning Centres Ltd said it would remain in a trading halt pending the release of a company announcement expected in the next two days.
The trading halt comes amid speculation the company is expected to make a takeover bid for rival service provider Kids Campus.
However, the company said it would not comment on the nature of the announcement.
ABC, Australia's biggest childcare company, said its securities would remain in pre-open until the earlier of either the announcement or normal trading on Wednesday
