True enough. But I'd rather someone try to harm me with a rock rather than a pistol or rifle - available at any gun shop here on the US Canada border. All of my neighbours here own guns, the bloke on the adjacent property has a handgun collection comprising of 64 weapons and boxes of ammunition. Heaven help the poor old firefighters should his house ever catch fire. At the slightest criticism he passes on his folksy wisdom, "Ed, guns don't kill people, people kill people."

Toothpaste, bottled water, booze and petrol may be cheaper in north America, but I having lived here now for for eight years, I ALWAYS feel safer when I am in Oz.
