Warren Buffett actually said: "The stockmarket is gradual transfer of wealth from the impatient to the patient." This has a totally different meaning to what you said.
Buffett has said many times that market knowledge is far less important than the investor's temperament.
Very few share traders ever get rich. Most of those that do get rich eventually trade themselves into poverty.
Charlie Viertel was the richest man in QLD when he died in 1992. He bought many shares and sold none. He still had his original 1929 BHP shares when he died.
