The ABC has chopped one of the more worthwhile things it does. It has axed the Rugby Shute Shield. It cost the ABC $800k a year to cover, or less than the cost of employing Mark Scott. Where does the greater value for the community lie? Scott or footy? They dare not axe that hopelessly unfunny Micallef (oh my side!). That would offend too many Uni students and SMH readers.
