Hi folks,I,ll be first to admit there is little basis to my following theory. Just some mid-day musings.

Mr Beattie has expressed his support for the coal industry through his refusal to push for a u mine in QLD.
BMA, one of the states largest coal producers, likley had a strong influence in development of the no u mine stance.
With BHP planning to extend their recently aquired super u pit in SA, whats the chances that BHP related figures are feeding Mr Beattie a pointless tale about protecting the coal industry.
The shortage of skilled workers is a valid argument, however this will no longer be valid when folk start to leave the state lured by BHP's sign up bonuses (up to $50000 I believe).
If Beattie thinks at any stage that his state will lose out due to current state rulings, watch for a sudden backflip.
