From a purely economic sense, maybe smoking doesnt cost the government.
But there is a human cost, in terms of lives lost, years shortened, and families that lose a loved on earlier than normal.
Not that smoking is alone. Grog does enormous damage, and obviously so do drugs.
Eating too much is also slowly killing us, with heart disease, diabetes etc. on the rise.
One thing is for sure, we are all going to cark it one way or another.
