It's also a rare day I'll open the wallet for the political parties, and if I do it usually goes in the direction of the Greens.

Most of my regular donations budget goes to real charities, such as Amnesty International, Red Cross or St Vinnies. I do give bits to other random charities that accost me on the street or on the phone, depending how good they are at putting their case forwards.

I hear Mitt Romney donates about 15% of his money each year to charity. It makes me happy to see people following through on Christian values as best they can.

As for tax deductions for political parties, I dont really have a strong opinion on it. Campaigns receive a lot of public funding as it is... so this is just another form of that.
