    Hi borisboy

By chance I heard a snippet on the ABC radio this afternoon discussing this very subject. Apparently it is all to bo with medical politics.....and malaria has had a good run for the last 10 years and got close to halving the number of deaths down to about 700k per annum....it would appear that rather than go for the full cure headlines, the medicos get a buzz, as do some of the philanthropists and donor supporters, in rushing to aid the next major crisis. This is born out by the fact that funding for malaria has also halved in the past 2 years as it is now deemed to be under control and manageable by housekeeping and a 3 day course of treatment.

Bugger those poor kids who cannot get treatment immediately and have to travel for treatment.

It also would now appear that in those areas where Ebola has caught on the rate of malaria has already doubled or tripled as treatment and medical resources are now directed to Ebola. In fact the expectation is that the rate of malaria will probably more than double in the next 2 years as malaria will lose its star billing to Ebola.

It sadly looks like we will be in time, supplying to a growing market.....I don't know whether to laugh or cry.
