Well I am not so sure about that Iceman?

Did anybody else here think it very strange that the specifically spoke about PRISM a fourth generation reactor, rather than the ESBWR for instance which is a third generation reactor, the ESBWR as far as I know runs on LEU? no problem transporting that type of fuel!
But the PRISM on the other hand runs on Plutonium and U238 which it converts to Plutonium and that would require special permission to transport (the Plutonium, if in fact they could get it even), but if it were locked up in used nuclear fuel from any LWR's then that is a much different prospect I believe, it would be far easier than transporting Plutonium if in fact they could? because the Used Nuclear fuel has lots of nasties in it, no one in their right mind would try and steal that stuff!
Lets just assume that PRISM did get the go ahead in the US and the UK and it worked very very well?
Because if it did, then the US and GLE in particular, would want to use the technology worldwide to convert used nuclear fuel to something that is reusable and also much safer surely?
I believe the one place even considered by GLE to use the technology required to recover Plutonium from used nuclear fuel and also recover U235 as well using LIS technology would be here in Australia, the only other signatory to the Silex agreement.

I reckon Oz could be looking after all of the used nuclear fuel that required toll treatment from this side of the world somehow? we are much closer to some nuclear sites in South East Asia than the US is, I get a sneaky feeling that PRISM may be much closer than we think somehow?
