Wow just shows your total LACK OF UNDERSTANDING there. Now taking the FHB grant etc is taking some other bastards money - negative gearing only reduces the investors income for that year but will be more than made up for in the latter years of the investment. If NG did not exist it would just mean that that loss is carried forward and reduces their taxable income in a future year. NG only aids an investment in its establishment just like any other business.
