    Mr Gordon

Jesus had human emotions, human needs, was subject to human pain as well as being a Manifestation of God. No doubt He understood the ramifications of His actions. So He lived each day of his mission knowing He would for the most part be rejected, tortured and eventually put to a very unpleasant death. He also knew that His calling would prevent Him from marrying or partaking in any of the pleasures of life.

    or

He could abandon His post and live a normal life as a carpenter which would have provided for His needs and the needs of a family if He had one.

All He had to do was keep His mouth closed. The devil is that aspect of us that chooses the easy way and not the right way. The path of least resistance. Jesus took the time to pray and fast and fortify Himself from any weakness, knowing the horrors of what lay before Him. He fought against the temptation of taking the path to a comfortable life and instead chose to be ridiculed, chose to be tortured, chose to be murdered in a most horrendous fashion so as to spread the word of His Father.

No corruption can possibly exist beyond the grave. Your God is unchallengeable. Notions of satan, the devil, evil incarnate, existed from previous religious teachings as metaphors for the animalistic side to our nature so Jesus used what was commonly understood to represent ultimate evil and corruption to get His point across.

It is good that you follow the teachings of Jesus and love Jehovah but to give form and substance to evil is beyond the pale. No less ludicrous than the hundreds of rubbishy movies made about the devil and impregnated virgins, and selling ones soul. The devil is a metaphor. Surely you can't seriously believe that Jehovah is challenged by evil and is awaiting some special moment to strike down that evil entity?

I know your special get out of jail card is 'the devil made you write that', but one clear minute of thought will remove such nonsense about satanic entities challenging Jehovah from your belief system.
