    GZ, psychology/psychiatry are more related to religion than people may think. Carl Jung drew from many of the worlds great sacred texts when formulating his theories. If you read Jung you might consider him a great thinker but if you then read the Yoga Sutra and the Bhagavad Gita and even to some extent the Bible, then you might think of him as more of a plagiarist. I guess the nature of man never changes. In antiquity religion was meant to be an exploration of the inner world but sadly as the centuries past it came to mean something else. Psychology in many ways is the replacement. Interesting that Schucman and Thetford had that psychology background.
