Slips, Australia is a very wealthy nation by any standards. We don't have to be mean-spirited and selfish! Indeed, that's not even in our best interests.
We could of course have improved conditions for our own poor, low income earners, disabled, vulnerable and Aborigines. But Joe Hockey's rotten budget was a naked blow aimed at transferring wealth from those with least of it to those with most of it.
