Yes, that's a fair comment, misty. The volatility of the 'elsewhere' stocks could well render them more risky.

If there were another event like the GFC, I'd be doing as I did last time and going completely to cash, regardless of the rate.

Thanks to you all for your comments although it hasn't really answered my question because was I wasn't able to frame my question in a way that reflected my thoughts. Ill try to reframe the question?
