Good point, zero. I too noticed the postings degenerate into the usual name-calling etc etc we are so used to seeing in the "General" site.
Heard's comments are interesting, and, up to a point, valid. I agree that a major factor (not the only one) involved in the US decision to invade Iraq has to do with its oil....only a simpleton would say that the US "just wants to have the oil for itself" ; there are more complex reasons than that. Heard's assertion regarding the US dollar and the US/EU power shift has merit, but there are a few wild cards to consider as well. Exs: The role of China (who has active exploration interests in Iraq).....Russia's position....the battle between "Old" Europe (anti-US) and the "New" Europe (more pro-US).
Does give one to think.....and look past the simple reasons. Now.....anyone have some reasonable, intelligent comments to make? If u wish to criticise my ideas, fine.....but I would appreciate CONSTRUCTIVE criticism, not DESTRUCTIVE.
