Kraft, every few months, has a massive clean of their Vegemite production plant - and then has it inspected and blessed by a Jewish Rabbi, and then produces a batch of "Kosha Vegemite". It is marked discretely with a letter "K" in front of the batch number, and is on general sale in supermarkets as it is the next substantial batch made.
There would be a cost to this, funds would go to the Jewish Community via the certification process and would be spent I assume on local "Jewish Religious" things.
Should this batch be clearly labelled, and be at a higher price? Or should it only be sold to people of the Jewish Faith - 2 lots of vegemite on the shelf - one for Jews at $3.50 per bottle and one for non-Jews at $3.00 a bottle? That way those who are not of the Jewish Faith won't have to pay for the certification of that batch of Vegemite.
Quite seriously, if I started a moment and put this up as a serious suggestion it would be called un-Australian, discriminatory, and a lot of other things.
These movements rarely like common-sense exact parallels drawn to their suggestions, and will start to argue that its a different situation, etc etc. Have a good long think about what is being proposed here before the bandwagon is jumped upon.
