Re your question gmt I believe the answer is yes.
Having read their reports and visiting their website the work that has been going on (if what CTO is saying is correct and there's no misinformation) progress in an underground mine is always slow. The safety of the miners is the prime consideration, one example is ventilation, another is the blasting, another is transporting the workers to and from where they are doing the work. The gold that is being recovered isn't as a direct result of the actual reefs but from the widening of and extending what they call stopes.
Having been 1500 feet down a coal mine from a school trip , which was quite an experience I can understand what underground mining entails.
