I have had (thank you) very limited experience with the union machine but I have been told numerous times when there were problems with things that the union had "designed" the program.
IMHO the union is always asked in first when something like the Subs are going to be built and they have the ability to manipulate what or how something is built and although they may not be in the design phase they do have the ability to say where the workers will work and how they will work, so redesign or else!
I do believe that we need unions but they are like our politicians in that they serve their political power base and not the people. Such a situation should not be allowed to continue
