Jessie1, you've misrepresented my post and demonstrated a lack of insight into what I've posted for years on this forum.

At no stage have I ever been an apologist. Indeed, if I had my way members of our judiciary and our security organisations would be subject to the same expectations we have of almost every other occupation in society.

The abject failure of our judiciary is increasingly enabling so many abuses that the whole rotten mess is approaching a tipping point. One wherein offenders have the upper hand and as we saw today, even allows people facing $110m fraud charges to just head off overseas.

Distributing white hoods and burning crosses will only add to the ranks of offenders and deprive society of what we value so highly. As for establishing legal systems that provide for countless and apparently never-ending appeals, our judicial systems are a sick joke that are being exploited at our expense.

We need to reform those institutions which are failing us and that includes pollies who create laws based on the notion that hardened criminals deserve chance after chance after chance before they are shown the bottom line.

And for the record, I see no point in keeping convicted mass murderers alive. Then again, I would not have offended most of the World's rational people by allowing the Saddam Hussein to be treated the way he was at his execution.
