I've been in and out of NEU a few times since around 0.02 and back in a few mths ago. A few things niggle about the Rett PhII results that someone might shed light on.
- why do they only show charts for the measures that were positive compared to placebo? NEU say that the others didn't show cinically significant worsening, but what was the likelihood of worsening for those measures?
- the clinical global impression of improvement indicates that the placebo arm worsened at almost the same rate as the experimental arm post-treatment, with little worsening during treatment. That suggests that there is a high placebo effect being observed. Plus there is a large variation in caregiver top 3 concerns during treatment of the placebo arm compared to difference between placebo and experimental.
I'm sure it's a difficult task to measure response with complete objectivity, especially for caregivers with so few alternatives.
