No worries, amusedobserver, the punters might not like the post if they work with Thorium as research scientists will say Thorium is higher grade & more abundant (U3O8 is rare & found in far flung places) & decays more slowly etc but for me it is a matter of energy utility. Because U3O8 got the run in industrialisation & scalability due to its energy related properties & most U3O8, they will no doubt say, is low grade but in North America (NAFTA) & the EU, U3O8 is a necessary unavoidable part of the mix & it will be more important in the future if the POO stays low & O&G production gets mothballed. There is not enough energy on the grid in the peak & people need transport to function in modern day just as much as they need their health so unfortunately U3O8, oil, gas & electricity (lighting, heating & cooling) sources win it for me over Thorium. Your hospital or medical research facility finds it as hard to pay its energy bills as all of us including industrial plants although it also has to find (& fund) its radioactive isotopes as well.
