You are right that this company will not be run primarily for the benefit of shareholders. Just like Amazon is not run primarily for the benefit of shareholders. Both companies are run by their founders. As a founder of the business, they care firstly about their real world business success (which they measure largely by market share) and everything else is secondary. Most big businesses these days are no longer run by founders. Instead they are run by directors constantly reporting to the short term demands of shareholders. That's why Amazon is kicking everyone's asses. (I do not hold amazon).
The company is a child to them. They want to see it grow and grow.
Both have massive holdings themselves and know that shareholders will ultimately benefit if the business itself continues to be successful.
