South Australia is a mendicant state like Tasmania but without its beauty.
The manufacturing industries there only survived by the government forcing all Australians to buy their rubbish. We could have been driving Mercedes or BMWs for the same cost as commodores and magnas. Many needless road deaths resulted.
The submarine Corp is a sheltered workshop. The unions are out of control.
Mining is effectively banned in much of the state as it is locked up by aboriginals. Luckily there is Olympic Dam, Port Pirie, wine and a few bright spots.
Perhaps it could be a retirement centre for poor people, like Tasmania. Perhaps it could be marketed as the Gold Coast for ugly people, the "Old Coast"?
