this E/W tunnel project which Bill Shorten told a meeting of the Australian Worker's Union last year was essential for Victoria - (where is HE now?) - why, deathly silent on this!!! Yet quick to jump on stage, blocking out the Andrews family from the cameras, against tradition, and taking credit for the Andrews win on election night of a State election! This bloke HAS to have the limelight. But does little else - a blowhard, I allege.

Is Shorten now working in with Dan Andrews with regard to his frantic extrication plans? How to pull the wool? Which form their legislative attempts will take, in the efforts to dodge paying any compensation to irate dudded consortium members - shades of North Korean style dictatorship emerging here, I allege - let's tell this to any propective FUTURE investors contemplating works in Victoria - too - Dan has made a huge mess of this, and Victoria's chances of having any future attraction to investors in major infrastrucutre works, bigtime.

"Contracts (with Victorian Governments) aren't worth the paper they're written on!" Bellowed Dan, ad nauseum, pre-election. He should have added - "when there's any chance a Labor Government gets in - overrides their predecessors good faith agreements - rips them up! Just because we can!" Yes, Dan, you can (in an alleged fit of petulant ideological spite!) Now, any future investors are going to run for miles - never being abe to trust ANY written contract made with ANY Victorian Government, ever again.

What's a tunnel - (says Andrews) - yes, Shorten last year told the AWU workers he agreed with this project, If built, it will be alleviating YEARS to come generations from massive bottlenecks - getting across Melbourne - when one can instead mend a few level crossings. (IF the LAST Labor Victorian Government had been frugal - NO disastrous de-sal plant - no massive upkeep keep the rust off costs) - NO abandoned money eating North South pipeline -they (Andrews Labor) could have done both - with ease. It will take YEARS for Andrews to get even a handful of level crossings fixed. And what about the cost? He can't spend the money LNP allotted to Victoria - just for this tunnel project.


It should be recalled that it wasn;t JUST the basic costs of the North South pipline - a Labor fizzer. There was also the cost of the many compensations which had to be paid out to disgruntled farmers, and landholders. One of whom I know. Whose lands were encroached upon - some land dug up and permanently damaged, and now useless for agriculture.

On two fronts, all blame should go back to previous Labor Govermnets - and their gross fiscal mismanagements - and fritterings of money they were left by their predecessors. Victoria - AND Federal!

Qld - beware! Labor -all blab - No substance.

And in Eltham, Andrews tried a smear campaign too, agianst LNP candidate, Steven Briffa. Three days out from election day. A defamatory leaflet - into every electorate letterbox - must have cost a fortune to do. But the LNP candidate his Party smeared, despite thri worst efforts, at least still got the majority first preference votes by a good majority. The Greens preferences then whittled this down enough to give the seat to Labor. (Wonder if THAT candidate sleeps well nights?)

I suggest (allege) Dan Anrdews is now casting around for some angle whereby he can end up going ahead and building this tunnel - taking all the eventual kudos for himself and his Party, wrongfully. (He and his mate James Merlino are already trying tot blame the precious State LNP Government for the mess they're making of this themselves. This now an established Labor tactic - it's was OUR fault - but let's blame it all on the Liberals, a tactic so beloved by Shorten, who's now resorting to it daily. (One has to wonder just HOW much Andrews and Co. are spending ow, daily, on gleaning advice from lawyers, advisers, and consultants. On how to make thmeselves come out of this smelling like a rose!) Playing games constantly is NO acceptable susbtitute to actually engaging in what they should be actually doing - giving the public GOOD Governance.
For LAbor - it's public last - and idielogical jugglings and personal promotions first.
