Ah property. The entire country seems to have had this 'magic touch' over the last 5 years.
Point blind folded to any area in Sydney on a map, buy, hold for those 5 years and you would have made decent money.
Many have done well. Scary almost.
I don't own property in Sydney. The returns aren't there for me.
If you are serious about property look into NZ.
NZ has no CGT and to purchase a property costs about $1500 (that not a typo). In Sydney you are looking at $40,000+ (stamp duty, fees etc) before you even begin. I find that outrageous.
Or... you could buy $100,000 worth of AJX and it would cost you $19...
