That quote was from Marx about religion and I guess you and others have come to similar conclusions by your own path. (I was not calling you a Marxist).
However I think if you were familiar with religions in general you would find that the things you mention are not all that significant as a reason for the existence of religions.
Look for example at Australian Aboriginal religion. It is meaningful to them in a way that is not explained by your analysis. In fact it acts as a sort of locus for their whole life.
I was trying with the example I gave to show that it has more to do with ones personal quest for meaning. If you were more familiar with our own religious traditions you would realise that religion is almost always about a sense of personal encounter.
I'm not recommending any of these religions to you but merely trying to indicate more likely reasons why they continue to flourish even in our educated autonomous and sophisticated world.
