Hairyback, Kevin Rudd may have ended up in a seedy girly bar but that's along way from what Berlusconi got up to; even Tony Abbott rates a long way ahead of him! But I do agree with you that Australia is churning through leaders making both stability and longer term planning very difficult.
We need longer parliamentary terms - the Brits are moving to FIVE years. We also need a different process for getting a PM - something along the lines of whoever a political party presents as its leader before an election becomes PM upon winning that election and remains so until new candidates are sought for the subsequent election.
