"Psalm 10:4) In his haughtiness, the wicked man makes no investigation; All his thoughts are: “There is no God.”
Call me haughty if you will. I call it rational thinking. I was once a committed Christian, but have changed my mind as result of a great deal of investigation over a long period of time.

"On the other hand there are those that examine artwork that then give praise to the artist they have never seen"
They may do so but if the artist expects the praise forever and ever, then he/she needs some sort of help to cope with his/her over developed ego or some other psychological condition.

"Is it speculation to assume artwork required an artist?"
It doesn't have to be speculation because we have evidence that artwork is the work of human hands.
It is speculation if you assume that either the artist is God or that God made the artist.
As I have already pointed out to you, it's as easy to speculate a universe without a God as you speculate a universe with a God.
Speculation doesn't answer the question of the existence or otherwise of God. I see no compelling evidence for God, but I see compelling evidence for the absence of God.
