Then why in the hell would they be doing further work like this below if they couldn't get the Uranium enrichment/separation working first of all?

There is something going on between GLE and Silex, what that is is not clear, but why would MG be working on the process and paying for it through Silex rather than let GLE pay for it.
The Yanks are very good at subterfuge it will become clearer at some point!
