If Australia had been invaded I tend to agree that all Australians should take a nationalist position and resist the invasion. That's what a lot of Iraqis are doing but then you expected them to welcome the invaders as liberators. Double standards??
Should all Germans have supported the invasion of Czechoslovakia and Poland? Should all Italians have supported the invasion of Ethiopia.
"My country right or wrong" is a self-defeating statement because it admits my country may be wrong but I still would rather back my country regardless of what it is doing.
We don't know yet for sure what the US is doing but it sure is not simply chasing terrorists or WMDs. In the best scenario the US is trying to remove all terrorist opposition to its interests, in the worst scenario the US is making a grab for global resource control and obliterating any alternative political systems. To me the evidence looks like the latter is happening.
So "that's what people do" is so weak and pathetic I'm surprised you actually stated it.
