"Currently looking at ways I can avoid a horrid capital gains bill by transferring shares into a SMSF or similar (I am 58)." - I looked in to this (I bought CSL when they floated at 76.6c), unfortunately CGT is payable, I'd be interested to know if there's another way around it though.
Also, looking at buying MQG at the moment, looked at them not long ago at $50 odd and thought they were a bit overpriced. Ah well...
