Here is some lateral thinking for some of you:
the Abbott government has been quite uncompromising with Indonesia in carrying out its Stop the Boats policy, here is Indonesia now telling Australia "you don't boss Indonesia around".
The one thing that I object to is for Julie Bishop using our parliament to beg for clemency and mercy on behalf of the two convicted drug smugglers. She did it for the second time today. Such an approach degrades the dignity of our parliament.
I have no objections to our foreign minister or our prime minister or other political leaders asking for clemency for our citizens, but they should NOT be begging for it.
