The Federal Government has asked television news directors to exercise restraint in their war coverage, in the interests of children.
The Minister for Children, Larry Anthony, says he is concerned about the negative impact of the graphic images on young people.
"People controlling the major TV networks [should] just show a little bit of restraint and particularly during those high peak hours where children may be watching TV," he said.
