Yes it might cost $300 per month, however my point is that Telstra could offer ADSL without a telephone service to residential customers without you having a Telstra number and therefore paying a monthly line rental. When you ring Telstra and ask whether the phone line can be switched off, they say that your DSL will die as the line needs to be open. Not the case it would seem for business customers. This is just another way Telstra suck money from you, line rental.

In my case I can only use ADSL as I do not have cable in my street. Would be nice to be able to stop paying the 18.50 per month, especially considering I make no calls.
