The general population knows heroin is to be avoided so we are talking about the very poor, fragile group in society here. A small portion who will be tempted. Now let us talk about smoking will we - How many people die a year from it? How many people lose limbs by smoking? Ever seen someone suffer from cancer before? How many people who do not smoke get third hand smoke and NO CHOICE of their own (walking past a café, outside a building, party, park) and later in life get cancer? I would class that as manslaughter no? But hold on, smoking is socially acceptable, so it is ok that you put someone at risk like that, inhale how many toxic drugs into their and others system?

My point IS there are these extreme rules for drugs, yet the biggest drug (and it is a drug) is alcohol & smoking causing more damage and destruction than anything else out there and nothing is done about curbing that in society.

The amount of people taking drugs is small compared to a real problem in society. When we talk about drugs and damage we are only talking about a small portion of that landscape I.e Ice and Heroin. A small portion of society participate in those. Let us be honest here ecstasy, cocaine, pot is not really a problem to society. It is a recreational pleasure no different from drinking or smoking. It is a problem because (a) it can not be taxed (b) can not be regulated for quality and quantity and (c) you are sourcing it from individuals who are not of good standing.

The death penalty for importing drugs should not be death, but rehabilitation and a long period of it so they can go out into society and make people aware of the dangers of certain drugs. Let us be hones here, kids and adults are more than likely going to take notice from someone who has paid the price, done the time and walked the walk than someone who has not and preaching to you. Education is the key, not death.

    Rant over.
