As you know, I was one of those caught out by the selling barrage that strange day a few weeks ago, so I agree with your first point.
However, I don't think you should just slag off technical analysis - T/A was what got me to buy MRE in the first place! Technically, it was worth a punt...looks like the punt has paid off, pity I don't own any anymore. T/A is what it is, it has no comments to make about the fundamental merits of a particular stock.

A lot of people who bought in the last three months are technically traders, all of whom are sitting on very tidy profits.
