Now back to me - I have probably been in the stock longer than you and have seen many ups and downs so will assume comments about 'micro thinking' and 'narrow minded' refers to others.
I assume like everyone else you get frustrated when the Telstra guy you need to fix some critical business infrastructure is booked to come in 3 weeks (because that is the timeframe for 'urgent' repairs) between 8-12, either doesn't turn up at all, or comes at 4:30 in the arvo only to say he can't fix it because he doesn't have enough time allocated so will need to come back - in about 3 weeks.
Now according to your philosophy being frustrated, or not, by the above event is only a matter of a positive disposition. The fact you have your business assets sitting there being of absolutely no use would not concern you because everything is rosy and if you hold a positive disposition it matters not you are losing money.
When the Telstra guy rings back and says "sorry the part you need will take 1 year to get here" you again say to yourself - "its just a matter of the bigger picture. I must not be narrow minded or obsessed with micro thinking. There is a bigger plan and this is just a minor delay - remember the bigger picture mightyatom" With that you put the kettle on, stock up on tea and head off to the library to spend your days reading"
After a year you try ringing to check on the progress of your part but get an answering machine that says "the office is unattended until further notice leave a message and we will get back to you" You leave your number.
After another couple of months (so 15 months in total) the Telstra guy rings back and says "sorry the part is still being sourced you will have to wait, ummmm probably about 2 years." You hang up and say to your self "Mightyatom - don't be negative mate. Chin up. Don't be like those negative people who would hear that news and wonder if their business will be bankrupt before they get the part from Telstra. This is a positive sign. Just remember to join the dots......I have a business and I need that part from Telstra. The guy just rang and he says it will be here in 2 years. I can wait for that and it matters not that as my business can't operate I have now lost 70% of my business - when I get that part it will take off. I don't need to sell the business because the guy assured me a year ago the part will definitely arrive. I know things change and delays occur that is just part of business life"
After another year the Telstra guy rings back and says "I am not sure I can get that part after all. I am in negotiations with the maker and there seems to be some problem and the part may not actually exist. Just trust us and we'll get it sorted."
You grab a cuppa and say to yourself "Mightyatom, what great news. The Telstra guys rang and told me he is working on getting that part. Remember, don't bother yourself with that negative thinking, or small minded half-empty talk. That is for others. Remember the dots........ If I get that part I can open the doors and my business will thrive and I will not only make back the 70% I have lost already I will make more."
So the question is - would any rational person wonder if the Telstra guy was actually doing the right thing? Was he looking after the client in the best way possible and taking sufficient care of the interests of the customer? Does he care about the customer because the loss the customer is experiencing whilst his business is locked down doesn't impact the Telstra guy who continues to get paid massively regardless of what he does or doesn't deliver for the customer?
No Mightyatom it is not negativity it is called accountability. It is called delivering on promises. It is called a CEO being accountable for the failure of the company to deliver on promised outcomes. This is not about 'perspective' it is about 'accountability'. We are due to launch a satellite in 12 months, 4 years LATER than advised and right now we do not know if we have the finance to fund it. Well may they say "long may they say 'God save Jabiru 1' but nothing should save Adrian Ballantine unless he is protected by a Board who has failed in their statutory duty to act in Shareholders best interests"

A nice piece of irony there filthy. The first paragraph was quite good then you proceeded with the antithesis to paragraph one in what followed in the remainder of your post.
