Katavi (or others), please excuse the newbie question but can you help me here...
In the past I have only bothered with IPO's which had a retail offer for the general public. This was no big issue as being very selective I have done very well out of what I have taken, and I have plenty of other stocks (non-IPO) that keep me busy. But last year when I missed out on the likes of IPH I finally bit the bullet and signed up with Morgans (everything else I do through a discount online broker). They got me some LOV so I guess that already made the relationship useful. Anyway, in terms of Touchcorp I had intended to take a small stake until I read the prospectus this week and discovered that there was no general public offer. Morgans isn't one of the JLM's and can't get me any stock. So, my question is this - what does the Retail Offer in the prospectus actually refer to? Since the bookbuild closed before the Retail Offer opened doesn't this mean that all stock had already been allocated before the Retail Offer opened? How do you guys manage to get stock in whatever you want - do you really maintain brokerage accounts with 10 different brokers?!
Thanks in advance.
