The other thing bout AJX is that the technology hasn't necessarily been applied to all sectors it could.

Lets say, for instance, Alexium was looking to test the effectiveness of Flame Retardants on Nylon Tents used for military personnel serving in desert environments (I don't know if they use nylon, but you get the idea). Quite a specific industry test for quite a specific product.

It would be an important test to run. Where would these tests be run? Probably the new institute.

What would lead from this is a whole bunch of journal articles in the relevant industry magazines about Alexium's multitude of testing at the Institute. These plethora of tests would create greater exposure in other military markets as well as creating 'ins' in the commercial sectors.

The other thing I see would be collaborations that this would enable.

Let's say I'm a textile producer, and I produce this lightweight tear resistant type of polyester.

Let's all it Septa-Ester. I might then look to run a trial, I might pass all tearing/wearing tests but may need flame retardancy. Through the institute I'm introduced to Alexium and collaborate on a flame retardant version of Septa-Ester to use for uniforms that now have my properties AND Alexium's properties.

It's not like the DoD is going to throw 150 million trying to create another 15 solutions to a problem that's already solved. It will be going towards getting the tech from labs onto the backs of military personnel.

Until every US Serviceman/woman has Alexium coating on their uniform, this institute can only be a net positive.
