If the pilot was simply "locked out of the cockpit" then there could not have been the rapid decompression I spoke of, the door would have blown in and the pilot would not have been knocking politely.
Very disturbing indeed. Odd how a "safety feature" may have condemned these poor souls to death: A locked cockpit door, installed to keep out terrorists, kept out the second pilot. But best I don't jump to any more conclusions, there is still a lot to be learned yet.
