Mongy, the amount of graphite importing the Chinese are offtaking to date is far greater than anybody could have foreseen. There has been 400kt with China to date (SYR, TON, MNS and Focus).
That is a good signal considering that the current worldwide natural flake demand is somewhere between 400kt to 1.2bt, depending upon which expert opinion one reads at the moment.
Maybe that truly reflects the current opinion in the industry that the Chinese graphite mines are in a real decline for one reason or another. I think that augers well for the wannabes.
Plus, the large amount the Chinese are offtaking might be a good indicator that future demand might be much larger than anybody anticipates at this time. That will also auger well for the wannabes.
