Good thread - a lot of accurate comments about the cycles/reality/expectations. Hopefully mine might add something here.
Anyone remember why Atlas has a code AGO? (I assume a lot do) Well its because it floated as a gold company a decade back. just like Gindalbie for example (formerly Gindalbie Gold), the Pilbara BIF (thats Banded Iron Formation for some) which was pegged as part of the Atlas Gold Limited IPO ended up being more valuable for Fe than Au. Cycles change, names of companies change, the MD of a $2M float in right place at right time (not casting dispersion or advocating skills, just stating an opinion) and BINGO..... blink of an eye to some and they are being castigated for sponsoring a sporting team.
We all rode that wave in some form or another. Maybe AGO will have some gold in the back block tenements...
